An internationally experienced, geosciences-based, professional with 35 years experience in the upstream oil industry. Particular experience in upstream opportunity identification, business development, strategy formulation, and portfolio management. Employed by Amerada Hess Corporation in the UK, West Africa and South East Asia between 1988 and 2002. Subsequent senior positions in the UK with AIM/TSX listed companies. Has been consulting since January 2009, principally to a large UK independent.
Significant work undertaken in the last 10 years includes:
- Completed new country entry studies for a leading UK independent seeking to establish an operating position on the African continent and in the Middle East.
- Management of asset portfolio of an AIM/TSX listed company, including coordination of budgets, operated and non-operated drilling activity, and New Venture activity.
- Responsible for preparation and delivery of country business plans for a large independent, covering existing areas of activity and new projects in South America, North Africa and Central Asia.
- Pivotal role in the creation and building of a successful business in South East Asia for a mid-sized US player, leading to the establishment of operating subsidiaries in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand
