More than thirty years experience of the oil industry, 25 of which have been in a commercial role with various oil companies. Employed by BP from 1969 to 1990 and by Shell from 1990 to April 2002. Became an independent commercial consultant in May 2002, forming MS Commercial Consultants Ltd. and becoming a Consultant with Fabian Ltd.
Significant work undertaken in the last 10 years includes:
- Overall management of two major joint ventures (Brent System and SEAL)
- Negotiation of new commercial arrangements for Sullom Voe Terminal with Shetland Islands Council
- Securing the Alwyn transportation business for Brent System
- Negotiation of Schiehallion Storage and Processing Agreements for Sullom Voe Terminal owners and negotiation of various tariff transportation agreements
- Commercial support for divestments
- Member of the Leadership Team responsible for directing and governing Shell's St Fergus, Mossmorran and Bacton gas plants and Northern/Central North Sea pipelines
